With its inaugural season in 2011, the Manitoba Girls Football Association is the first female tackle program of its kind in Western Canada.
The MGFA is dedicated to developing and fostering opportunities for girls to play football against girls. They are not competition for other minor football leagues in Manitoba. The League is played in the spring, allowing girls to learn how to play, improve their skills, and compete against each other with the opportunity to compete in the minor football leagues in the fall should they wish.
