First Down

The First Down program by Football Canada is a fantastic initiative for young children aged 4 to 7. It’s a non-contact program designed to introduce kids to football through fun and age-appropriate games and drills. The program focuses on developing fundamental movement skills such as running, throwing, catching, and kicking, which are essential for physical literacy.

The program consists of eight one-hour sessions over four weeks, all held at the field in Steinbach. One of the great aspects of this program is that participants don’t need to provide any equipment, making it accessible for everyone.

It is a wonderful opportunity for kids to get active and learn new skills in a safe and enjoyable environment!

Registration opens in May, and the program starts in mid-June.
