Eastman Raiders vs
St. Vital Mustangs 5:30 pm

Small team of 6 boys today!
HOT HOT HOT day!!
#63, Oscar Gagnon and #8, Manfred Klassen did a great job getting our team up the field, which ultimately lead to a 10 yard run by #8, Manfred Klassen, for our one and only touchdown of the game!
Great defence plays were made by #48, Jack Leppelmann and #60, Slade Carr.
My goodness, the heat is extreme! Our trainers did a fantastic job keeping our Raiders cool and hydrated!
I’d like to acknowledge also, #22, Jackson Penner, recovering from a pre-season injury, who is always at the practices and the games to cheer on his team every step of the way! It’s great to see!!
The team did an amazing job, with only 6 of them playing and in the heat.
Keep up the great teamwork boys!!
Go Raiders!!

Aug 15 2015

The game started with the captains meeting the refs. and the opposition to decide who would get the starting kick off. We were on the receiving end of the kick off which was picked up by Gavin at our 50 yard line. We loss possession at the centre line and then our defense took over. Our defense and Job did an awesome job tackling, but the Rods managed to get through and score within the first 3 minutes with a 55 yard run. The Raiders answered back with some fancy footwork from Noah and then a touchdown run by Zachery. At the end of the first quarter the Rods were leading 14-6. The Raiders kept working hard the try and close the lead; they had a great tackle of the Rods quarterback by Austin and Gavin also got an amazing tackle of the quarterback later in the second quarter. We were fortunate that our guys have listen to our great coaches as a fumble by the Rods was immediately covered up by Gavin giving us a chance to try and score, but we came up just short. Just prior to the end of the second quarter, we had several beautiful tackles by Austin and some great running from Eric, which resulted in our second touchdown of the morning. In the second half we did some switching up and moved Devon unto the defensive line which gave him some fun tackling the Rods. We also realized that we needed a few runners on our defensive line so we also moved Noah over; he along with Austin got in a few excellent double tackles. We had a nice intercept of a Rods pass by Kayden. In the last part of the third quarter we had Boston get us down the field with a 30 yard run and then had Eric take it the rest of the way for a 45 yard run to make our third touchdown. We fought hard on our offensive line even seeing some of our small players like Sean just picked up and tossed aside but as coach said “we get back up” and that is what they did. With that mentality, they managed to do some beautiful team work and Eric scored our final touchdown brining our score to 25. We then had under a minute to go when Gavin intercepted a pass, but alas time was up.

Raiders versus Greendell

The game started with the calling of the players to the field by name. With each name came the cheer from family and friends that came to watch the Crunchers Greendell and Eastman Raiders Teal play.

First kick off was for Greendell, caught by #50 Dylan.

#11 Braysen made an amazing whole field run for the Raiders first Touchdown of the game.

#50 Dylan ran the ball 40+yards for the second Raiders Touchdown, and then was able to run the ball for the extra point! Go raiders GO!!

End of the first half and Raiders had 2 touchdowns and 1 extra point.

The second half of the game started with an awesome tackle by #2 Riley. Right after that # 4 Quinten, #2 Riley and #88 Malakhi together did a wicked tackle bringing the Greendall player down. Way to go team!!

#4 Quinten had another great tackle, grabbing the Greendell players ankles, like the coaches have been working hard drilling into the players at practice.

#42 Brody M tackled a Greendell player pushing them out of bounds.

Again #42 Brody M tackled another player from Greendell with ease. Practice makes perfect! Keep it up team!!

#50 with another huge run for the touchdown. They then got the extra point. WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE!!

Amazing game boys!! Congrats!!

We had an awesome season opener game against St Vital Red, and we gave them a serious run for their money!!

Some of the game highlights….

St Vital starts with 2 TD, but our defence block both convert attempts. Our first TD is scored by #10 Eric Martens in one exciting run! The Convert is brought in by #9 Boston Thiessen!

St. Vital takes hold of the ball, but it’s not long before defensive player # 55 Gavin Neufeld intercepts.

# 10 Eric Martens runs in our second TD! Number # 9 Boston Thiessen once again runs in the convert!

With both teams aggressively making their way across the field, there were many excellent tackles and the defence was on fire! Great tackles by # 55 Gavin Neufeld, #98 Austin Neufeld, # 95 Grayson Styve, #16 Anthony Charonneau and many more!!

Our third TD is run in by #2 Noah Godlewski, Convert is good by #10 Eric Martens! Score is now 21-30!

After a long intense battle on the field and excellent support from everyone on the line and behind it, we finish our 4th quarter with #10 Eric Martens running in our last TD, bringing our final score to 27-30 for St. Vital.
